DOSAGE SOURCE

Dosages

Sermorelin is administered through subcutaneous or intravenous injection, with dosages tailored to the patient’s age, condition, and treatment goals. For diagnostic purposes, such as evaluating growth hormone deficiency, clinicians typically administer a single dose of 1 mcg per kg of body weight intravenously. This stimulates the pituitary gland, allowing measurement of growth hormone release to assess pituitary function. In therapeutic settings, particularly for children with growth hormone deficiency, daily subcutaneous injections often range from 100 to 200 mcg, typically given at bedtime to align with the body’s natural growth hormone release cycle. Adult dosages, when used off-label to address growth hormone insufficiency, generally fall between 0.2 to 0.5 mg daily, adjusted based on clinical response and under medical supervision. Dosages require careful monitoring to ensure efficacy and safety, as user responses to sermorelin may vary.

RESEARCH

Human & Animal Studies

Human Studies Sermorelin and related GHRH(1-29) analogs have been studied in both children and adults. Clinical studies have evaluated sermorelin/GHRH therapy for: Growth hormone deficiency in children Idiopathic short stature or impaired growth velocity Diagnostic evaluation of GH reserve Age-related decline in GH secretion Effects on the somatotropic axis in older adults A review article describes sermorelin as a 29-amino-acid analog of human GHRH and the shortest synthetic peptide retaining full biologic activity of GHRH. In children with growth hormone deficiency, once-daily subcutaneous GHRH therapy was shown to accelerate growth during the first year of therapy. In older adults, nightly administration of a GHRH analog for four months activated the somatotropic axis, increasing GH and IGF-1 activity. Animal & Preclinical Studies Preclinical research on GHRH analogs has helped establish their biologic activity and receptor-mediated effects. Animal and laboratory studies have shown that GHRH analogs can: Stimulate pituitary GH release Increase downstream IGF-1 signaling Demonstrate receptor-specific activity at the GHRH receptor Support growth-related pathways Help characterize GH secretion physiology Animal and preclinical data support the biologic plausibility of sermorelin, but they do not establish safety or effectiveness for common off-label wellness uses in humans.
